BVI

IFG BVIThe British Virgin Islands (BVI) is one of the most stable and prosperous financial centres in the Caribbean.

It is a self-governing British Overseas Territory that uses the US Dollar as its currency. Tourism is attributed to generating almost half of the national income with the remainder mainly coming from the finance industry.

BVI’s main benefits as a jurisdiction include:

  • No income, capital gains or other taxes
  • No investment restrictions or minimum capital requirements
  • No restrictions on share classes or currency

The legal system, being essentially derived from Common Law is very well established. Testimony to this is the fact that there are more than 400,000 International Business Companies registered on the island. The island is also seeing a significant increase in terms of the registration of mutual funds and related management companies.
