IFG raises £3,500 for children's hospice Rebecca House
November 2008
Thanks to the innovative Christmas IFGBay site devised by Derek Boyle, the company’s Facilities Manager, IFG Isle of Man was able to raise £3,500 for Rebecca House this year.
“The response was incredible” said Derek, “Even better than last year, everyone was so generous and we were able top the £3,000 raised last year”.
IFGBay, created along the lines of a well known auction site, is funded with all sorts of gifts, products and services donated by suppliers, local business and staff alike, on which IFG employees can make their bids during a pre-set five-day period. As in the real world, whoever has offered the highest amount wins the bid once the time is up.
With over 180 items ranging from a Medion 17” Laptop, Gardener for a weekend, 8GB iPod Nano, Moet & Chandon Special Edition Gold NV Swarovski Crystal Champagne to Stainless Steel Flasks and Vacuum Cleaners, IFGBay opened its doors at 09:15am on Friday 14th November and by 1pm had already raised just under £1,000.
Located in Douglas, Isle of Man, the children’s hospice, Rebecca House, offers specialist palliative care for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, and their families. Providing respite, emergency, and end of life care, in a new and purpose built hospice.
Derek and IFG Isle of Man would like to thank all who took part for their enthusiasm and generosity.
Merry Christmas!
