Isle of Man Aircraft Registry Takes Off
August 2009
Figures released from the Isle of Man's Aircraft Registry show that it could pass the 200 mark during 2010.
The Isle of Man Aircraft Registry was set up in May 2007, during which year 51 aircraft were registered. This was followed by 73 new registrations in 2008. In the first three months of 2009 alone, 27 aircraft have been registered, bringing the total number of Isle of Man registered aircraft to 151. This propels the Isle of Man in to second position on the leader board of offshore aircraft registries, closing in rapidly on Bermuda, which has approximately 190 registered aircraft.
